By Rolland Nwanua
For the lost glory that we seek to rediscover;
For the honour that we hunger for;
For the immortality that we crave;
This fire will not be put out.
For the Black people whose course we fight;
For the tears in their eyes;
For the lamentation on their lips;
This fire will not be put out.
I shall fan the flame with all the energy in me.
I shall fuel it with my blood.
If the heavens will require from us a sacrifice,
I shall lay myself on the alter.
This fire must not be put out.
